Valencia CF have reached an agreement for the renewal of Diego López for the next four seasons, until June 2029.
The Asturian forward extends his contract with the Club, making a mutual desire come true and consolidating himself as one of the key pieces of Valencia CF’s attack, both now and in the future.
Valencia CF thus secures the continuity of a player with a huge influence on the pitch who, since his breakthrough into the first team in January 2022, has earned the respect and affection of the entire Valencianista fanbase thanks to his determination, goal-scoring ability, competitive character, and knack for stepping up in key moments.
His extension reaffirms his commitment to the Valencia CF project and also represents another important milestone in this new era, following the renewals of other key players forming the team’s backbone and with VCF Academy DNA, such as Javi Guerra and César Tárrega.
At 23 years old, Diego López has worn the Valencia CF jersey in 92 matches, providing 13 assists and scoring 17 goals, the most recent of them in Matchday 1 of LALIGA EA SPORTS against Real Sociedad at Mestalla.
The Asturian is a key asset not only for Valencia CF but also for Spain’s Under-21 national team, with which he played in this summer’s European Championship, and in 2024 he won the gold medal with Spain’s Olympic team at the Paris Olympic Games.
His contract renewal is a key step in the sporting growth of the team over the coming years.
